At BMI we started 2024 with a sporting spirit and a lot of excitement, because we were part of the Coffee Cup for the third consecutive year, an event that this year celebrated its fifty-ninth edition. During the week of competition, which took place at the Costa Rica Country Club, we were able to share with the attendees in this event that brings together youth tennis talent.
The Coffee Cup is a J300 category tournament (formerly known as Grade 1) and is currently supported by the International Tennis Federation. The new badge was only received by 2 J300 events in the world.
The popularity and prestige of the cup, which has been held since 1965, is classified as one of the most prestigious youth tennis tournaments in the world. For this reason, Luis Esteban Fernández, director of the event, assured that this recognition is a reward for the quality and talent of the young people who participate.
“The Coffee Cup has become a very relevant tournament over the years, due to the points it gives for the world ranking. The players classify it as one of the competitions that they enjoy the most because of the experience they live, making them feel more professional, this because we give them the opportunity to play in front of a large number of fans and sign a number of autographs in a top-level club. and in an unmatched climate,” explained Fernández.
