During a recent meeting, BMI, in collaboration with the Santa Fe Foundation of Bogotá, held an informative talk dedicated to raising public health education in the Dominican Republic.
The goal was to raise awareness in the community about the symptoms of breast cancer and the importance of early detection, not only for women, but also for their families.
Verónika Ramírez, commercial director of alternative channels for BMI Dominican Republic, opened the event with a warm welcome message to attendees.
Dr. Juan Manuel Clavijo, a specialist in breast cancer at the Santa Fe Foundation Hospital in Bogotá, highlighted the importance of a timely diagnosis.
During her presentation, she provided updated information on breast cancer and projections of its increase by 2050, as well as the incorporation of new surgical rooms in the hospital.
Efrén Ortíz, general manager of BMI Dominican Republic, emphasized the valuable alliance with the Santa Fe Foundation of Bogotá, which offers its policyholders access to specialized care and procedures.
These options include: minimally invasive and robotic surgeries, cardiovascular procedures, oncological treatments, bone marrow transplants, Gamma Knife, ECMO therapy, living donor transplants and ophthalmological procedures, among others.
This joint effort reflects the commitment of BMI and its partners to improve the health and well-being of the community by promoting education and early detection of breast cancer.
